FCI registration is not a guarantee of quality. Everything depends on the breeder

In January 2026, a large-scale intervention took place in Poland at a well-known breeding kennel officially registered
within the FCI system (Fédération Cynologique Internationale), one of the world’s largest and most influential canine organizations.
According to publicly shared information from the intervention, the inspection revealed extremely disturbing and unacceptable conditions:
- many dogs were kept in cramped crates,
- animals were found living in filth, including feces and urine,
- 16 dogs were reportedly found deceased on the premises,
- surviving dogs required urgent veterinary care and rehabilitation.
The dogs were reportedly registered with official FCI pedigrees, and the kennel operated under a national member organization connected to the FCI system.
This tragic case is a painful reminder that formal registration in a major organization is not, by itself, a guarantee of ethical breeding or animal welfare.
Why We Believe It Matters to Speak About This
Many people comparing the American Pit Bull Terrier and the American Staffordshire Terrier are often advised to choose the Staffordshire Terrier because
“FCI pedigrees are more trustworthy” or “FCI registration is more prestigious.”
This may sound convincing—especially for first-time buyers, people planning international travel, or owners dealing with import requirements in different countries.
However, real life shows something much more important:
the quality of breeding and the dog’s well-being depend on the breeder—not on the logo printed on a pedigree.
Registration is not a measure of ethics
Even the largest and most respected canine organizations can:
- register pedigrees,
- work through national clubs,
- set general rules and standards,
but they cannot monitor daily living conditions inside every kennel.
This is why official status and paperwork do not automatically protect dogs when a breeder acts irresponsibly.
The position of the American Pit Bull Terrier kennel Dognik Bulls
We are Dognik Bulls, a kennel dedicated to the American Pit Bull Terrier.
Our dogs are registered with the American Dog Breeders Association (ADBA)—a U.S.-based breed association historically connected to the American Pit Bull Terrier
and focused on breeder responsibility, health, and working qualities.
We openly state our core principle:
Breeding quality is determined not by an organization’s name, but by the breeder’s honesty and responsibility.
We encourage future owners to:
- evaluate real living conditions, not just documents,
- communicate with the breeder directly,
- ask clear and sometimes uncomfortable questions,
- assess the breeder’s attitude toward the dogs, not only the paperwork.
Do not choose an organization—choose a breeder.
Conclusion
Tragic cases like the one reported in Poland remind us that animal suffering can happen:
quietly, behind closed doors, sometimes even under the cover of respected names and official status.
Our responsibility as breeders is to remain accountable and transparent.
Your responsibility as a future owner is to make an informed, thoughtful choice.
If you are looking for responsible American Pit Bull Terrier breeding based on respect for dogs—not just formalities—Dognik Bulls is open to communication.
