My name is Veronika Voitovska. I am a zoopsychologist. I work with behavioral disorders in dogs, with anxious dogs, with aggressive dogs.
A little about me. I am a zoopsychologist with two certificates — issued in Ukraine and issued in the UK. In addition, I am a human doctor, which helps me understand the physiology and pathological physiology of living beings. And identify hidden health problems in dogs. I am a certified cynologist expert. Judge of dog shows all over Europe. Judge of sports competitions in dogs.
And most importantly, I am the owner of a large European kennel of serious dog breeds: American bullies and American pit bull terriers «Dognik Bulls». At the moment, there are 10 pit bull terriers and 5 American bullies in my kennel. This gives me real experience of life, education, understanding of dog zoopsychology. Every year, many puppies are born in our dog kennel. I also consult all the owners of our dogs throughout their lives. And I also consult as a zoopsychologist to the owners of other dog breeds. During my life, I have worked with a huge number of dog breeds. In this article, I will focus on zoopsychology and consultation of small dog breeds. For small dogs, our world is big and sometimes alarming. I work with identifying the causes of fears in small dogs. I work with separation anxiety in small dogs. I work on understanding the causes of aggression in small dogs towards other dogs, children, people. I help to identify the cause, understand the dog’s logic and clearly explain to her the inadmissibility of such behavior in society. I work with hyperactive dogs of small breeds. In general, I work with everything — sleep problems, relaxation problems.
As I communicate, I find out what regulates the reasons for the appearance of behavior undesirable for the owner. Then I find out how the undesirable behavior was formed. How the adaptive functions of such behavior are manifested. And then I work on correction and options for changing this behavior.
For this, I use zoopsychological observations. This is an analysis of videos from dog owners. Videos with problematic situations. We model these situations and look at them from the point of view of zoopsychology of a small dog. Then we try options (or one option) that will help change the dog’s attitude to what is happening. That is, reduce aggression towards other dogs, children, remove anxiety and fears. And so on.
In simple terms, what do I do as an online zoopsychologist and how do I differ from a dog trainer? A dog trainer teaches you to give a piece of food to a dog after a command has been executed. And I examine cases when the dog did not take this piece of food. That is, all the questions: «why didn’t she take it?», «what influenced this?» and «how to fix this?»
I consult online via video link. I will need a description of the problem and several videos of the problem from you in advance. I will personally tell each client which videos are needed. First, I need to understand the problem so as not to waste time collecting the anamnesis of the problem during a video call. And to deal specifically with the analysis of the problem and the choice of the solution (and understanding the essence of the problem) that will suit your particular small dog.

I conduct online video consultations only in English, Russian or Ukrainian. If you do not speak any of these languages, I give you a written description of the problem (the reason why it has become entrenched in behavior) and options for solving it. This will be enough for you to subsequently work on the dog’s behavior. I also consult more than once or twice. I can conduct zoopsychological consultations for dogs as they live, grow up, and new problems in behavior appear. For example, we can solve all the problems of a puppy with the help of zoopsychology.
